Maria Silfa studies American politics with a focus on interest groups and bureaucratic politics. Her current work explores how business interests interact with the bureaucracy at different stages of the rulemaking process.  At CSDP, Maria will continue to explore how bureaucrats respond to different political pressures and how they incorporate the preferences of relevant actors in final rules. Maria earned her PhD from the University of Rochester in 2022.
