Sarah Staszak, associate research scholar and CSDP faculty associate at Princeton University, and her co-authors have garnered the "Best Paper" award from the Race, Ethnicity, and Politics section of the American Political Science Association. Co-author Jake Grumbach was a CSDP Fellow for the 2018-2019 academic year. Their paper (with Alexander Sahn), "Gender, Race, and Intersectionality in Campaign Finance," highlights the vast underrepresentation of women of color in campaign finance and notes the effects of coethnicity and gender on the makeup of the donor pool in House of Representatives elections. The award is given to the best paper on Race, Ethnicity, and Politics presented at the previous year’s APSA Annual Meeting.
