Patricia Kirkland, who recently joined the faculty at Princeton University as assistant professor of politics and public affairs and a CSDP faculty associate, was named the winner of the American Political Science Association (APSA) Urban Politics Section's "Susan Clarke Young Scholars Award." She was recognized at the APSA Conference in Boston earlier this month.

The Susan Clarke Young Scholars’ award recognizes scholars who completed their Ph.D. within the last three years. Professor Kirkland studies American politics with a focus on subnational politics and public policy.  Her ongoing research leverages original data with a combination of experimental and observational methods to explore representation, public finance, and fiscal health in American cities.
