Ismail White book wins prize for best book on government, politics

Ismail White and his co-author, Chryl Laird (University of Maryland, formerly Bowdoin College), have won the American Political Science Association's prize for the best book on government, politics, or international affairs for their book Steadfast Democrats: How Social Forces Shape Black Political Behavior (Princeton University Press 2020). The award-winning book looks at how group expectations unify Black Americans in their support of the Democratic party.

Ismail White is professor of politics and public affairs, and CSDP faculty associate, at Princeton University. Professor White was a CSDP visiting scholar in 2007-2008.
