Professor Frances Lee will be awarded the Walter Beach Award by the National Capital Area Political Science Association (NCAPSA). The Beach Award is given every year by NCAPSA to a political scientist who, in his or her career, "has made a substantial contribution to strengthen the relationship between political science and public service."
Frances Lee is the leading expert on the contemporary Congress and the challenges it faces. Through an already long career studying Congress, she has greatly increased our understanding of how it operates and the ongoing challenges it faces, and also shown herself to be extraordinarily skilled at communicating those insights to the world.
Lee is professor of politics and public affairs at Princeton University and a member of the executive committee of the Center for the Study of Democratic Politics (CSDP).
