Democracy for Realists, by Christopher Achen and Larry Bartels, was named one of the best books of 2016 by Bloomberg, in their compilation of the most popular choices of their annual survey of book recommendations.

Christopher Achen and Larry Bartels are the authors of Democracy for Realists: Why Elections Do Not Produce Responsive Government (Princeton University Press 2016). Christopher H. Achen is the Roger Williams Straus Professor of Social Sciences and professor of politics at Princeton University, and a CSDP faculty associate. Larry M. Bartels holds the May Werthan Shayne Chair of Public Policy and Social Science at Vanderbilt University, and was the founding director of CSDP.
