Seo-Young Silvia Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Government at American University. She received her Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology in 2020.

Professor Kim's research interests are American politics, political methodology, and computational social sciences, with focus on political behavior (registration/turnout/campaign contributions), working with large voter files and Federal Election Commission datasets. She mainly uses R and Stan to employ probabilistic record linkage, supervised machine learning, Bayesian statistics, and more.
